Just ... Me: October 2014

I’m chronically ill and disabled. I have Fibromyalgia. I have CFS/ME. I have long term depression. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I'm overweight.

I’m a single mum. I have been a carer for a disabled family member. In recent years I've seen Stage 4 Breast Cancer, MS, Alzheimers and Hodgkins Lymphoma close up.

I (used to) write fiction as a hobby. I read pretty much anything and everything when my brain allows. My musical tastes are wide and eclectic. I use social media as a way to make, connect with, and retain, friends all over the world. I’m a bit of an eco-warrior, a bit political, slightly hippy. I’m a bit emo, a bit goth, a bit grunge, a bit steampunk, a bit rockabilly, a bit alternative, in likes if not always looks.

My children are, or have been, all under SEN, SALT and IEPs, mostly for issues bordering on the autistic spectrum. My children all have Hypermobility Syndrome (BJHMS). I apparently have Hypermobility tendencies, if not the full blown syndrome. Two of my children have Dyspraxia. One has Dyslexic/Dyscalculic tendencies. One suffers from rather bad Plaque Psoriasis, an auto-immune disorder, and has Multi-Sensory Processing Disorder.

And yes, horror of horrors, at this point in my life I’m on state benefits.

But none of these are ME. They’re labels, and yes, they’re all ones I may touch on as issues arise, or other articles, happenings, blogs or images interest me. But they’re not ME.
